Outlook Mail: Save Multiple Mail Attachment Files Simultaneously

Do you sometimes receive email messages that contain more than one attachment? If so, you probably saved one mail attachment at a time, which works well enough when getting these kinds of messages is infrequent. But maybe you actually get lots of messages with multiple attachments, or they’re rare, but when they come they contain a lot of attachments, you might be interested to know that there is indeed a way to download and save multiple attachments at the same time. It’s actually easy to do, but the process varies a little bit depending on whether you are using Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. What follows are the steps for each version of Outlook. To minimize the chance for confusion, there are separate instruction sets for each Outlook version.

Saving More than One Mail Attachment at a Time in Outlook 2003

Follow this procedure to save more than one mail attachment simultaneously when working with Outlook 2003.

  1. Select and open the message containing the attachments you want to save.
  2. Next, click File. In the menu that appears, click Save Attachments.
  3. When the Save All Attachments dialog box appears, find the Attachments list, one or more attachments that you want to save, then click OK.
  4. A standard file save dialog box appears. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the attachments and click OK to save them.

How to Save More than One Mail Attachment at a Time in Outlook 2007

Follow these steps to save multiple mail attachment files simultaneously when you’re using Outlook 2007.

  1. Open the message containing the attachments you want to save.
  2. Click Other Actions in the Actions panel of the Ribbon. Then click Save Attachments.
  3. The Save All Attachments dialog box appears. In the Attachments list, select the attachments you want to save, then click OK.
  4. In the Save File dialog box that appears, navigate to the folder that you want to save the attachments in. Click click OK to save them.
